Tag - you're it!

Happy Thursday all! Hope you are having a great week.  Apologies for the lateness of this post - no legitimate excuses!  Seize the Birthday is a totally free-for-all this week - no theme!  I have been having a lot of fun with paints and tags so pulled together another one this week.  I have been using up random embellishments to decorate them (and I have a lot of unused embellishments!). Apologies for the less-than-clear sentiment.... grabbed the wrong ink. :-/

Hope you get a chance to play along!  All the details for playing along are on the blog.... as are the rest of the fabulous DT creations.

Thanks for stopping by!  Always appreciate the comments.  Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.

Fabulous florals

Happy Thursday crafty friends.  Hope you are having a great week.  Before getting into the details of the Seize the Birthday challenge this week, I want to welcome two new people to the team... Vicki and Barbara!! I completely forgot to do it last time so huge apologies to them.  Be sure to check out their fabulous creations.  The toppings/option for this time around is 'floral'.  I decided to do a tag with some paints and a stencil. What do you think?

Hope you can play along this week!  All the details are on the blog.  Check out the rest of the beautiful blossoms from the rest of the team.

Thanks for stopping by.... have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

Tall drink of water

Happy Thursday crafty friends. Hope you are having a great week! It's a three day weekend here, starting tomorrow and I am so looking forward! Still feel like I need to catch up on life post school and vacation. I confess to being a bit lazy!

Seize the Birthday is doing a water theme this week!  Of course, the only real requirement is that the card have a birthday theme.  I did an ocean theme, a watercolour background and used my watercolour pencils for colouring.... maybe I took it a little too literally. ;)

Hope you have a chance to play along with us! Check out the blog for all the details and give some love to the rest of the team! We have a couple of new ladies joining us too so be sure to welcome them!

As always, really appreciate you stopping by. Thanks so much.  Have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

Simple division

Greetings crafty friends.  Starting off with some apologies... first off, this post should have been up yesterday.  Also, I didn't get a change to post two weeks ago... I was just back from vacation, hadn't made a card and had no mojo to do so.  On a positive note, I had amazing 4 week vacation in SE Asia - it was our 'I'm finished school' gift to ourselves.  If you are interested, here are some pictures on Instagram.

This week's Seize the Birthday challenge topping is to divide your card and or focal point in half or thirds or etc. My mojo is still a little lacking so I went pretty clean and simple with this card.  Put my focal point in the bottom third of the card.

As always, the only real requirement for playing along is to have a birthday theme.  All the details for playing along and the rest of the gorgeous design team creations are on the blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Sweet!

Hey crafty friends.  Hope all is well in your world.  Seize the Birthday has a delicious theme this week - cupcakes or candy! I must admit I don't have much of a sweet tooth (more of a savoury person) but do love all the cupcake stamps available.  Here's what I came up with - used Liquid Applique for the icing and Glossy Accents for the cherry.  (I apologize for the shock - those who know me well, know that pink is an 'issue' for me... seemed appropriate for this card though).

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  All the details are on the blog... while you are there, be sure to give some love to the rest of the team. Their creations are fabulous!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate you comments.

Here's the sketch...

Simply clean

Happy Thursday!  Hope everyone is having a terrific week.  I'm happily relaxing after finishing my final final final edits on my thesis.  Such a relief!

The Seize the Birthday theme this week is my favourite type of card - clean and simple (CAS).  I am slowly but surely getting my mojo back - I really do need to find some time to do a bunch of cards.  I used a stencil, some paste, Distress Ink and glitter to do the stars. :)

Hope you can play along with us.  The theme is just an option (as always) - the only requirement is that it's a birthday card.  Stop by the blog for details on how to play along and to give some love to the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Let's Celebrate!

Happy 2016! Wishing you all the best for this year.  Hope it is better than last year.  :)

Apologies for being a day late with my Seize the Birthday post.  No good excuse. Thought I would go with a party theme in honour of the new year! My mojo is a little lacking these days so kept it pretty clean and simple.

There is no theme/topping this week.  Hope you have a chance to play along!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to give some love to the team while you are there.

Freaking *red*!

Happy Thursday crafty friends! Hope you are having a great week so far!  Apologies for missing the last challenge post... I have no reasonable excuse other than just "life is busy".  I don't know why I thought I would have more free time after my schooling was done.  Haha...

Seize the Birthday has a colour option/topping for you this week!  It's my favourite colour *red* and white. *giddy* Went pretty clean and simple on this "safe for work" card.  Haha.  This Snarky Stamps stamp set also has the other "not safe for work" word.  ;)  This is the only set I have from them but must get some of the others - so fun and inappropriate.  Kinda like me ;)

Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous red and white creations... as well as details on how to play along with our challenge!

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.  All the best for the holidays - whatever you are celebrating. Thanks for stopping by

Very vellum

Happy Thursday friends! Hope you are having a great week.  I am happy to report that I successfully defended my MSc thesis last week!  I just have a few small minor edits and then school is complete for me - hard to believe it's been over two years since I started.  Needless to say there have been a lot of celebrations.

For the Seize the Birthday challenge this week, the option/topping is vellum.  I love vellum but I hardly ever use it.  I had to scrounge through my stuff to see if I actually had any!  LOL.  Hope you like what I came up with.

Be sure to give some love to the rest of the team over at the blog.  Hope you have a chance to play along... all the details for playing along are on the blog too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate your comments.

Inspired

Hey crafty friends!  Hope all is well.  I am in the final days of school so life is hectic (and exciting and nerve wracking!).

The Seize the Birthday challenge this week is a free-for-all with no options/toppings.  I made this stamp-free (gasp!) card with a few new goodies... with inspiration from this card from super duper talented good friend Jenn.

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous creations from the design team and for details on how to play along.

Celebrate!

Happy Thursday!  Hope you are having a great week.  Apologies for the lateness of this post... I am in the final days of school and time seems to 'get away from me' quite easily.

This week's Seize the Birthday challenge is something I don't do much anymore - pocket cards! There are so many varieties of pocket cards - I kept mine pretty simple from a technical point (see lack of time above!).  Made up for it with a bunch of bold colour. (ETA: just a note - the background is just patterned paper and not true bokeh bubbles as I have no idea how to do bokeh - hahaha)

Hope you have time to play along this week!  Be sure to check out the blog for details on how to play along and give some love to the rest of the team (they made some awesome cards!).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate your comments.

p.s. Will update the  card details a bit later.... stay tuned.

Splattered wishes

Hope you are having a great week and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge! I am in the midst of classes at the moment (the last round for my MSc degree!) so just squeezing in a quick little post. The option/topping this week is splatter. I used a plastic stencil, some Distress ink and mist to create the background on this.  Watercolour pencils were used for the sea horse.

Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous creations from the design team and details on how to play along.

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.
