Sweet!

Hey crafty friends.  Hope all is well in your world.  Seize the Birthday has a delicious theme this week - cupcakes or candy! I must admit I don't have much of a sweet tooth (more of a savoury person) but do love all the cupcake stamps available.  Here's what I came up with - used Liquid Applique for the icing and Glossy Accents for the cherry.  (I apologize for the shock - those who know me well, know that pink is an 'issue' for me... seemed appropriate for this card though).

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  All the details are on the blog... while you are there, be sure to give some love to the rest of the team. Their creations are fabulous!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate you comments.

Sketchy party

Happy Thursday crafty gang!  Hope you are having a great week!  Seize the Birthday is doing a sketch this week (only if you like - the toppings are always optional).  This is what I came up with.  It's my first ever shaker card so please forgive any imperfections.

Here's the sketch...

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  All the details for playing along are on the blog.  Be sure to give some love to the rest of the design team for their fabulous creations!

Simply clean

Happy Thursday!  Hope everyone is having a terrific week.  I'm happily relaxing after finishing my final final final edits on my thesis.  Such a relief!

The Seize the Birthday theme this week is my favourite type of card - clean and simple (CAS).  I am slowly but surely getting my mojo back - I really do need to find some time to do a bunch of cards.  I used a stencil, some paste, Distress Ink and glitter to do the stars. :)

Hope you can play along with us.  The theme is just an option (as always) - the only requirement is that it's a birthday card.  Stop by the blog for details on how to play along and to give some love to the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Let's Celebrate!

Happy 2016! Wishing you all the best for this year.  Hope it is better than last year.  :)

Apologies for being a day late with my Seize the Birthday post.  No good excuse. Thought I would go with a party theme in honour of the new year! My mojo is a little lacking these days so kept it pretty clean and simple.

There is no theme/topping this week.  Hope you have a chance to play along!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to give some love to the team while you are there.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
All the best,

Freaking *red*!

Happy Thursday crafty friends! Hope you are having a great week so far!  Apologies for missing the last challenge post... I have no reasonable excuse other than just "life is busy".  I don't know why I thought I would have more free time after my schooling was done.  Haha...

Seize the Birthday has a colour option/topping for you this week!  It's my favourite colour *red* and white. *giddy* Went pretty clean and simple on this "safe for work" card.  Haha.  This Snarky Stamps stamp set also has the other "not safe for work" word.  ;)  This is the only set I have from them but must get some of the others - so fun and inappropriate.  Kinda like me ;)

Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous red and white creations... as well as details on how to play along with our challenge!

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.  All the best for the holidays - whatever you are celebrating. Thanks for stopping by

Very vellum

Happy Thursday friends! Hope you are having a great week.  I am happy to report that I successfully defended my MSc thesis last week!  I just have a few small minor edits and then school is complete for me - hard to believe it's been over two years since I started.  Needless to say there have been a lot of celebrations.

For the Seize the Birthday challenge this week, the option/topping is vellum.  I love vellum but I hardly ever use it.  I had to scrounge through my stuff to see if I actually had any!  LOL.  Hope you like what I came up with.

Be sure to give some love to the rest of the team over at the blog.  Hope you have a chance to play along... all the details for playing along are on the blog too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate your comments.
Have a terrific day and a wonderful weekend.

Inspired

Hey crafty friends!  Hope all is well.  I am in the final days of school so life is hectic (and exciting and nerve wracking!).

The Seize the Birthday challenge this week is a free-for-all with no options/toppings.  I made this stamp-free (gasp!) card with a few new goodies... with inspiration from this card from super duper talented good friend Jenn.

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous creations from the design team and for details on how to play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great week and a terrific weekend.

Celebrate!

Happy Thursday!  Hope you are having a great week.  Apologies for the lateness of this post... I am in the final days of school and time seems to 'get away from me' quite easily.

This week's Seize the Birthday challenge is something I don't do much anymore - pocket cards! There are so many varieties of pocket cards - I kept mine pretty simple from a technical point (see lack of time above!).  Made up for it with a bunch of bold colour. (ETA: just a note - the background is just patterned paper and not true bokeh bubbles as I have no idea how to do bokeh - hahaha)

Hope you have time to play along this week!  Be sure to check out the blog for details on how to play along and give some love to the rest of the team (they made some awesome cards!).

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Always appreciate your comments.
Glenda

p.s. Will update the  card details a bit later.... stay tuned.

Splattered wishes

Hope you are having a great week and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge! I am in the midst of classes at the moment (the last round for my MSc degree!) so just squeezing in a quick little post. The option/topping this week is splatter. I used a plastic stencil, some Distress ink and mist to create the background on this.  Watercolour pencils were used for the sea horse.

Be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the fabulous creations from the design team and details on how to play along.

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.

Better late than never!

Well, my life craziness has finally caught up with me!  Totally forgot to schedule this post!

It is (belatedly) time for another Seize the Birthday Challenge.  This week's option/topping is border punches/dies. Surprise, surprise... it's more watercolour from me. ;)

Be sure to check the blog for the rest of the fabulous creations by the design team and for all the details on how to play along.

Sorry for the short post - will add my supplies later today. Thanks for stopping by.

Weather forecast

Happy Thursday!  This is going to be a quick post - up to my eyeballs in school work right now (but the end is in sight!).

The Seize the Birthday challenge is all about the weather!  We invite you to use any sort of weather element in your card.  The theme is always an option, of course.  The only real requirement is birthday!

Played around with an embossing folder and my water colour pencils for this one.

Used some glitter pen on the sentiment but it's hard to see in the picture.  Can see a little glimpse of it here.

Hope you can play along!  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to check out all of the fabulous creations from the rest of the team.

Up, up & away

Happy Thursday... hope you are having a great week! Time for another Seize the Birthday challenge and the option/topping this week is 'anything that flies'. So many options... planes, birds, bats (haha)... and I went with kites. :) Used my watercolour pencils for the kites and the sky.

Hope you get a chance to play along this week.  As always, the details are on the blog... as are all the rest of the fabulous design team creations. Be sure to give them some love!

Happy Birthday Nancy!!!

Having a special blog feature today to wish Happy Birthday to Nancy Leppek! She is our fearless leader over at Seize the Birthday.  She keeps us organized and smiling.  A huge happy birthday to her as well as a huge thanks for all that does.  You're awesome Nancy!

Most of the rest of the design team has also whipped up a card to celebrate Nancy! (Those who aren't on the list are vacationing).  Be sure to stop by and check out what they came up with and also stop by Nancy's blog to wish her a happy day too!  This is the order we are 'hopping' in...

Glenda (me)

I must confess this card will be late getting to Nancy... I am up to my eyeballs in thesis work!  The end is in sight though...

Embossing is the boss!

Happy Thursday and welcome another Seize the Birthday Challenge.  We are playing with 'embossing of any kind' for our option/challenge. The topping is always an option; the birthday theme is really the only requirement. I did both dry and heat embossing on my card.  :) Just got this stamp set a couple of months ago... I can resist stamping in black because it reminds me of a Dymo label maker.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you can play along with us this week.  All the details are on the blog.  Be sure to stop by and give some craft love to the rest of the amazing design team.

Have a terrific day and wonderful weekend.
